As a licensed architect in Idaho, Tate brings a thoughtful approach to design that balances creativity, technical precision, and strong sense of place. Tate earned his Bachelor’s in Environmental Design from Montana State and His Master of Architecture from University of Colorado Denver.
Having grown up in Park City, Utah, Tate is deeply familiar with the mountain-town lifestyle and architecture of the Mountain West. As a competitive cross-country skier and biathlete, he spent many weekends racing throughout the Wood River Valley, developing a strong connection to the region and its landscape.
Tate first joined Williams Partners Architects in 2022 as an intern while attending Montana State University. Through his experience at the firm, he developed a strong foundation in design, technical detailing, and project coordination. Working alongside experienced architects helped refine his design sensibilities and foster a keen eye for detail.
Outside the office, Tate enjoys exploring the mountains and trails on his bike, as well as continuing his lifelong passion for both cross-country and alpine skiing. His appreciation for the outdoors and mountain environments informs his approach to architecture, creating places that are thoughtfully connected to their surroundings and designed for the way people live.
