Jakob is a sixth-generation Idahoan and has been fascinated by architecture since a very young age. While in High School in McCall, Jakob began his architectural career by working for a general contractor, where he developed his skills in concrete and carpentry on custom mountain homes in Valley County.
Following his first year of college at the University of Idaho, Jakob spent five summers working as a door-to-door salesman in Austin, Texas, where he sold pest-control contracts to high-end residential clients. After becoming a partner in the company, Jakob decided to shift his focus back to architecture and began his first summer internship at a local design office in McCall.
Shortly after graduating with his Master’s Degree in Architecture, Jakob was awarded the opportunity to continue pursuing his lifelong dream of designing custom homes in mountain resort towns by Williams Partners in Ketchum, Idaho.
After work, you will find him fly fishing on the Big Wood River or backpacking into the Pioneers. Jakob views architecture as a very unique profession; in his words, “architecture is the bridge between the physical and the non-physical. Thoughts become things, and dreams turn into realities.”
