Caleb Spangenberger is a licensed architect practicing in Idaho and Wyoming, with experience across large-scale commercial, high-end residential, and mass timber projects. A native of Atlanta, he laid the foundation of his career at tvsdesign — one of the Southeast’s most respected architecture and design firms — where he developed deep expertise in complex project delivery before and after earning his graduate degree from Texas A&M University.
During his time at tvsdesign, Caleb focused on large hospitality and retail projects and became an early advocate for the use of BIM across both design development and construction documentation. From 2010 to 2013, he served in a lead role on the Marriott Marquis Washington DC, a one-million-plus square foot hotel and convention center, during the documentation and construction administration phases. His work on that project earned him the opportunity to present to Marriott International’s headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, where he spoke to the team’s integrated use of BIM modeling and Integrated Project Delivery.
Caleb relocated to the Wood River Valley in 2013 to work with Architect Susan Desko on award-winning custom residential projects in Idaho and Washington as well as the headquarters for Chobani in Twin Falls, Idaho. He joined Williams Partners Architects in 2017 and became a partner in 2021. His current practice spans high-end custom residential design and an expanding focus on mass timber construction. Notable recent work includes the guest cabins at South Fork Lodge in Swan Valley, Idaho — a project utilizing cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glulam wood systems that reflects both the structural possibilities of mass timber and a design sensibility rooted in the landscapes of the Mountain West.
Beyond his project work, Caleb is an engaged member of the regional design community. He has served as President of the AIA Idaho Mountain Section, held a board position on the Idaho State AIA Chapter and served as Chair of the Ketchum Arts Commission. He is currently on the Policy Advisory Board for the Gem State Housing Alliance, whose mission is to expand housing options and strengthen communities across Idaho.
