This collection of eight A-frame guest cabins is located in Swan Valley, Idaho, a remote fly-fishing destination within the Teton Mountain Range. The cabins are sited to preserve uninterrupted views of the surrounding valley and mountains while maintaining privacy between units. The steeply pitched A-frame forms respond directly to the region’s heavy snowfall, efficiently shedding snow and improving thermal performance. Constructed from prefabricated cross-laminated timber panels, the buildings were designed for rapid assembly within a short construction season. Double-height interiors, large openings, and selective breaks in the form introduce natural light and frame views, creating a balance between warmth, shelter, and a strong connection to the landscape.
